"So Proud"

You were born a precious boy
On December One
Your chubby cheeks and bright blue eyes
Your life had just begun.

So Proud to show you off
You were as sweet as can be
What an amazing addition
To such a close knit family.

So Proud to call you Christopher
It was a name that served you well
Your warm and caring ways
Were like a magic spell.

So Proud to watch you grow
From birth to age sixteen
Your love of life was evident
To all it could be seen.

So Proud in your accomplishments
They were numerous one and all
To watch you with friends and family
And playing volleyball.

So Proud when I hear stories
From so many of your friends
Why did you leave so soon?
My heart will never mend.

So Proud of your kindness
Your gift from above
You gave people new life
They're showered with your love.

So Proud of you, my son
You were an angel in disguise
There's been a star named after you
It shines brightly in the sky.

So Proud that I'm your Mom
It's what I was destined to be
My love will surround you
Forever and Eternity.

You wrote me a poem
On October 29, 2003
You wrote "And all of my childhood memories
Are full of the sweet things you did for me
And even though I act craaazy,
I gotta thank the Lord that you made me."

Now I write this heart-filled poem
Especially for you, from me
I will always be your Mom
And you will forever be my Lovey.

Always, Mom
