Brokenhearted

Driving to work each morning
I see the people
Going on about their every day

I wonder how many of them
Are brokenhearted
Having lost someone special along the way

For it’s not easy to see
A broken heart
It hides itself behind
A desperate smile

No it’s not easy to see
A broken heart
We try so hard to hide it
All the while

I wonder how many others out there
Have a hole so deep
Within their hearts

Finding it amazing that the world
Cannot see
It’s falling all apart

For it’s not easy to see
A broken heart
It hides itself behind
A quiet sigh

No it’s not easy to see
A broken heart
We try so hard to hide it
All the while

They say it’s time to move on now
It’s been so long
And he’s in a better place

Little do they realize it’s impossible
For there is no one else
To fill this space

For it’s not easy to see
A broken heart
It hides itself behind
A desperate smile

No it’s not easy to see
A broken heart
We try so hard to hide it
All the while

Three years and seven months
Is such along time
And yet, a fleeting moment too

For in our broken hearts will remain
Your sweet legacy
Of love and laughter
And oh so many memories of you
